Kubrick is best known for having dealt with almost all the bravura film genres: the historical genre in Spartacus, the psychological drama in Eyes Wide Shut, science fiction in 2001: A Space Odyssey, gender and war with Full Metal Jacket, Paths of Glory The Shining with horror, the thriller The Killing, A Clockwork Orange in the sci-fi satire and political satire with Dr. Strangelove.
