Prince Metternich offered an important receipt and, on that occasion, he asked the official chef to create a cake that was really special. The expert cook, suddenly fell ill and the task was passed to an apprentice baker named Franz Sacher. The boy, who was only sixteen, he invented this chocolate cake and had a great success, even by the same Metternich. In a short time this became known and it was sweet required in all the noble families of Europe. His name was, precisely, that of the young and successful inventor!
chocolate dough, the filling of apricot jam and coated with dark chocolate icing are the three main features of the Sacher Torte.

I feel I can add that good Sacher cake can be enjoyed even by Demel, also in Vienna and they will not own the original, but it is equally delicious ... Demel, not at all, was the official supplier to the Royal House of Austria!
