The bossa nova, one of the most famous and most sensual rhythms of Brazil, was declared a cultural heritage of Rio de Janeiro, exactly one week after the samba became Brazil's Cultural Heritage. For the bossa nova, consecrated by composers like Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes and Joao Gilberto, was born about 50 years ago and, according to the decree published in the Official Gazette of Rio, "has become a benchmark for various carioca generazoni of musicians ".
